Beer Cans and Art Jams

Did some sketches at Bob and Barbara's bar the other night with fellow cartoonists Michelle Miller and Jeffro Kilpatrick. We had a good time making fun of the d-bags who eventually crowded the place. If you want to view the whole set, you can check 'em out on my facebook page linked here. While you're at it, you should fan my facebook page if you get the chance or like my work.

Other Stuff

I finally colored the strength and weakness pieces of mine. They're one color, but I think it came out pretty nice. Maybe I'll try full color, but for now, subtle is the name of the game.
Here's a link to the previous post where you can see the sketches and inks.

Here are the last few sketch cards I'll be uploading here. I'll continue to throw 'em on the web, but mainly on my Tumblr.

Another Warm-up

Here's my morning warm-up for today:

I've been working on a few new comics. Going to have a crap load of stuff in the coming months, so keep checking back. On another note, I now also have a Tumblr site. Fan me on Facebook and check out the store!

Wampa Stompa

My brush warmup for today. Unfortunately I looked back at Empire, and it looks like Luke chops of the other arm...*sigh* oh well...

Bridge Trolls

Here's a little piece I did for "The Billy Goats Gruff". The coloring still needs a little work (color seems to be my arch nemesis). But here's what I have so far:

Sketching

Here are some sketches from assorted recent times in my summer sketchbook. Thought people might like to see some. The sketchbook is made out of mango paper from Costa Rica that my girlfriend got for me. I really recommend trying this paper out, it's really similar to the recycled sketchbooks they sell at most art stores. Ink goes down on it so well, so these may seem a little black-heavy, but I just loved the texture.

Man on a flaming tofu-pie

EDIT: Here's the finished piece.

Here's my vision of the BEETS album "Killer Tofu!"s cover. Needs some revisions, especially in the type, but this is what I have so far. The main thing I want to fix is the type placement and design for the BEETS logo. The fact that it's covering up Doug is a problem too, it's causing some tangents. In any case, it's a work in progress.

Aaahh!!! (I drew a real) Monster

I drew this during my Arts of Japan class. The class is great, but during a slideshow I just kinda zone out and draw. I might make this into a T-shirt or something. I'm going to try and design a few shirts for myself, maybe for sale, who knows. I could always use some extra scratch. Maybe I'll call my buisness CutCo, maybe Interslice, or even Flancrest.
